Yes and no...

It would be nice if this type ofinformation could ultimately be added
"internally" in an installation - but then you can look at it only when
you've already done an installation.

The purpose of my document is primarily to be able to make decisions
*before* installation, about whether or not you're going to share
database tables between different (sub)sites. So my intention is to have
a document that outlines this publically available _as a document_, just
like the multi-site installation tutorial is now (and to which I'll add
my own third variation - when I've sorted out which tables to share...).

And, to have it integrated internally, I'd need to know whether the
information is correct in the first place - which is why I put up what I
have by now for comment!

As to maintainability, that's actually very easy - it's just an HTML
document that I re-upload when I've made some changes. :)

That's the ultimate aim, of course. But it's called 'preliminary' for a
reason: for now, there's so much guesswork still, I thought it better to
have it at least half-way correct before it goes out to the xaraya.com
site. I don't even know whether it's 10% correct or 80% correct or
whatever. People wouldn't expect something totally incorrect on the
Xaraya site, would they?

So I thought it better to keep it in my own sandbox until I'm reasonably
sure it's mostly correct and useful!
