Xaraya Usability Survey: admin interfaces

One of my biggest complains about usability is that each module admin 
interface defaults to an overview page that contains nothing. For 
example if I want to admin the categories module, I want to see 
immediately a list of categories. If I want to admin the modules module, 
I want to see the list of modules not just two links to "list" and 
"regenerate". Same goes for permissions, groups, and so on.

I had filed 4 bugs (31 32 33 34), (for modules modules, group, 
permissions, and categories) the first three of them were closed with 
resolution "later". I believe this is an issue that should be tackled 
and the solution would take one line: a redirect in the 
[modulename]_admin_main() function of such modules to function 
[modulename]_admin_view()
