Re: Blogging implemented within Xaraya

Hi Alexander, Brian, Johnny and Linoj,

Hey guys, thanks very much for the very helpful and prompt feedback to my 
rather general question. This is all extremely helpful.

When I mentioned I am new to Blogging, I've never installed one, but did use 
an MSN "canned" Blog once briefly to provide one-way feedback on a Microsoft 
conference  that I was attending (so that students of a class I had 
conducted could get feedback).

But now I have an extended family member who wants a Blog where they can 
provide information as a contributor, but then also allow monitored 
contributions from others (I guess the hooked in Comments Module, in the 
Articles scenario).

I read a bit (the Overview page), on the Bloggerapi Module and got the 
impression that it would allow the contribution of content to the Blog by 
way of a client side application called w.bloggar (at least for the Windows 
desktop environment). I haven't installed the client app yet, but will do 
that and test things out, as that seems a nice way to go for someone who 
intends to do a lot of Blogging. The Bloggerapi Module Overview page also 
had a link to the Blogger API (http://plant.blogger.com/api/index.html), so 
I guess I'll be doing a bit of reading in that area as well.

Then it seems, from what Johnny mentioned, that you can also set up an 
Articles based Blog to generate an RSS format feed. That would be nice to 
have also.

Linoj, even though I did a search under a number of keywords, I didn't 
realize that document on Blogging existed on the Xaraya site, so thanks for 
providing that link. Thanks also for the link to your personal Blog. Wow, 
there's some great information out there on Xaraya development. So a double 
thanks for that. The format you have there looks very much like what I think 
my cousin is after, so at least I know that it is possible to do that in 
Xaraya.

Given all this, while I am new to Blogging, I want to explore all the 
possibilities available through Xaraya. And I specifically want the Blog to 
be integrated with Xaraya, because I want to use a number of the Community 
based Modules available through Xaraya. So that makes it very inportant for 
me to have a Blog that is tied in to the Xaraya feature set, especially the 
Privileges and Roles Modules. I can't wait until you complete your Blogging 
"Soup to Nuts" article.

I really appreciate all this great feedback and I am certainly open to 
continued feedback as I delve further into pulling all this together.
