the secure path should take all the version steps via the latest builds from
2.1/2.2/2.3/2.8/2.9./2.10;
Maybe some steps are not required, but I can not remember which one. 
So one have to try it. At least 2.2 should be required, too:

Maybe you can reply a recommended path for updating the very old versions
after succeeding?
