The recommended upgrade path is via ZMS 2.11.0 (Download avail. at http://bscw.medvalue.net/pub/bscw.cgi/199497) 
.

Personal experience:
- First load ZMS instance with ZMS 2.11.0 (usually you'll notice the  
object model beeing patched)
- Then upgrade to the latest 2.11.1 version (you should get another  
object model patch message after login)
- Check meta attributes manually for content objects (we noticed that  
sometimes not all meta attributes are assigned automatically trough  
upgrading)
- Check for special chars in meta tags (we noticed that for example a  
' or " in a language string or meta attribute description will break  
your setup)
