Hello,
many thanks for your question. This may interest a lot of people:
as you know ZMS works with Zope (now 2.13)
http://zope2.zope.org
and not with the other software called Bluebream.
http://bluebream.zope.org
I am sorry for the sometimes irritating communication about the Zope software. "Zope 3" was a very bad idea and the sentence you mentioned may connected to this.
So make it clearer, Zope will continue as "Zope 4" now (not released yet)
http://zope2.zope.org/releases
and ZMS will continue working with Zope, of course.

Aporpos future:
With the latest ZMS Build we improved support for TAL templating using it for the content modelling. Although you could use TAL from the early days of ZMS the development team always were asked, why ZMS uses "only this old fashioned" DTML templating.
The next weeks a "how to" will be published and a simple default template will base on TAL.
Of coure DTML templates will still be supported/rendered so that nowbody has to refactor all the presentation templates. Because there are still some people who appreciate the advantages/simplicity of DMTL ;-)
