I am very interested about compiling 7-zip with
the Mingw gcc compiler with the gcc -Wall -O3 -s
optimizing options which might improve the very
slow running 7-zip program.

Sorry... already tried, to no effect. =(
Even "-O3 -march=i686" gives only a 2%-or-something 
in speed. And it's nonetheless a bit *SLOWER* than 
the VisualC-compiled version.
