[bdbxml] problems while indexing a container

Hi I have a node container that is about 17gb in size, and has over 360,000 XML documents in it. I populated is first, and now I am trying to index a single XML element. I am doing this on a Dual Intel Xeon 3.06Ghz machine. After populating, I opened the container in the dbxml shell and it was fine. I even tried a 'getDocument' and that worked too. The indexing command that I issued in the shell looks like > addIndex "" "INSDSeq_locus" "edge-element-equality-string" However, this runs for a while and then does not respond, i.e the file size also stops increasing. Is there anything I can do to find out what is going on.
