open office configurations (1.1.4)

I've tried just about everything that comes to mind to get OOo 1.1.4 to
connect to a local mckoi database. Anyone here successfully accomplished
this?  I keep getting "No connection could be established for the URL
jdbc:mckoi://localhost/" "
