I don't know. My attempts to report the bug have actually been removed
from the bug database.

I would suggest trying to use the SQLyog tool at

http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/

The admin manager isn't as good, but it does work.

I'm wondering if we can escalate this issue.

Hi Lynn:

Just touching base again. I have had no response to the problem which
you originally posted on the Mysql forum. I'm getting ready to put a
"critical" application on line and it makes me nervous that I can't seem
to modify the user database. Actually, it makes me more than nervous
and I have delayed the implementation of the new database. This makes
me look bad!

Anyway, I shouldn't complain to you! I just wondered if you had heard
anything about a resolution to the problem.

Thanks
Cliff

Thank you for you comments.

Soundworks (a commercial audio recording studio in Houston, TX) is the
parent company of Christwebs. We host web sites for ministry but we also
do a decent amount of business apps as well.

My role is basic - the developer. Just me. My boss does the networking,
and I do the programming and database work. I develop in ASP.net (using
visual studio) and run on windows, but we use MySQL for our db.

I've enjoyed the new GUI tools, but this recent problem with the
administrator is frustrating.

Hi Lynn:

Thanks for your quick responses. I guess this is part of the hassle of
open source and regular updates.

I thought I was losing my mind until I found your original post!

I'll keep you "posted" (no pun intended) if I see anything about a fix.
Please let me know if you hear of one.

Where is soundworks and what do you guys do?

Cliff

I get the exact same problems.

I've gone back to SQLyog for updating users.

http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/

Though it's not perfect, I have to also make sure things are correct
using the query browser.

I'm not sure.

Hi Lynn:

I can add users even though I am getting the "Error While Storing User
Information". The new user shows up in the query browser. I can even
modify password of this user if I use an UPDATE and the PASSWORD()
function. But, I still cannot log the user into the database. He is
not found. Also, if I try to use the SET PASSWORD command to set a
password I get the message the "row does not exist".

Very strange. (BTW: I'm new to this forum, how do you post a message so
that it is included in the correct thread? Thanks!)
