MySQL Administrator won't start up on SuSE 9.2

Hi folks,

I just installed the MySQL Administator on my SuSE 9.2 box. The version 
I used is the most recent up on the site:

   mysql-administrator-1.1.6-1.suse93.i586.rpm

The install via YaST appeared to go smoothly - no errors or weirdness. 
And a MySQL Administrator icon was placed on the Applications menu.

When I try to start up the Administrator, though, nothing happens.

If I click on the menu option, the little SuSE waiting bouncing ball 
bounces for 15 seconds, and then disappears, and nothing happens. No new 
processes show up.

If I run the program manually (either as root or as a regular user):

   /user/bin/mysql-administrator

I get the following error:

/usr/bin/mysql-administrator-bin: symbol lookup error: 
/usr/bin/mysql-administrator-bin: undefined symbol: g_option_error_quark

The MySQL server _is_ running on the box, btw. I can access it in a 
shell via /usr/bin/mysqladmin just fine.

The documentation for mysql-administrator is a bit dated; it still 
refers to tarballs and the /opt directory. Searching on "undefined 
symbol: g_option_error_quark mysql" turned up four links: bug 16547 and 
a couple of messages about inkscape that complained about the 
ancientosity of 9.2 and how much better deb is.

Suggestion?
