Stable version of Mysql workbench for Linux

Hello to all,
    I was wondering if there is a stable release of Mysql Workbench?  I 
have been having trouble getting it to work properly under Linux, 
specifically the application runs, but hangs in the reverse-engineering 
function. I'm able to get through to the last step in the process and 
when I try to click finish, the gui hangs. 

    I thought it may be the database I was connecting to itself, however 
I was able to do a full reverse-engineering when I used the mysql 
database on the mysql server. As well I had a spare machine and I was 
able to do a reverse-engineer of the database when I used the WINDOWS 
version (installed from the MySQL GUI Tools installer).

    I noticed the version difference between the windows and the linux 
versions. Is the linux version up to date?  Is it possible to get a 
snapshot of the development tree?

    I'm using Slackware 10.2 and have all the required packages 
installed (gtk, glibc, gtkmm, etc).

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
