You can now actually get Workbench (alpha) building on Linux

Do you reckon that the *community* can provide patches to improve the 
mysql-gui-tools? I am aware of the old gtksourceview issue, and it has 
been broken in Fedora for the last few releases

This is thorny, but I will reiterate again, do you think that we can get 
external patches to fix this?

 From what I understand, the codebase should be moving to Launchpad at 
some stage, but its currently already in SVN

Maybe we need to draw up what needs to be done, and have an effort to 
fix the gui tools
