No worries, that makes perfect sense.  While reading your reply it 
clicked with me about MA manipulating services - I do connect to 
localhost but it's tunnelled through SSH so I don't have services on my 
local PC and therefore have never noticed that no admin permission would 
be an issue.  I am an administrator on my PC, but the UAC still kicks in.

While I'm thinking about it, is there any way to hide the error "Either 
the service or the configuration file could not be found.  Startup 
variables and service section are therefore disabled.?"

I use an SSH tunnel to connect to my MySQL servers; I open the SSH 
session and connect to "localhost" but don't have the MySQL services 
installed locally, so MA always complains.  Could you provide an option 
(say "ignore service errors" or a checkbox on the error "don't show this 
again?")

It's a minor annoyance; I'm sure I can't be the only one with this setup.
