To answer your question, I'll just quote them:

So, I guess we (users) won't be affected as much as MySQL will be
because of this commercial trade, enterprises can now (and probably
will) choose MaxDB (I would) and Innodb is still an option, while it
continues to be open-source. Full support is still there and so, well,
this transaction only implies lots of questions about the future, we
DBMs should stay plugged in the present (and keep an eye on what's
going on). I see this as a good thing, because IMHO its HUGE jump for
the open-source community.
