QSR connection fails using direct syntax

Howdy all,

In 11.5 GA, I'm testing an upgrade of our Production DB from 10.5 to 11.2.
This test requires an RMAN restore to a new node, where the DB_NAME is
different from the instance name. In Oracle Networking terms, the SID is
not the same as the SERVICE_NAME.

When I connect to the instance using the direct syntax and service name
(myuser:1526/myservice), everything is fine. But if I try running something
through QSR, I get an "ORA-12505: TNS: listener does not currently know of
SID given in connect descriptor". Looking at the listener log on the
server, my original Toad connection is using (SERVICE_NAME=myservice) as
specified, but the QSR connection is using (SID=myservice), which is not the
same.

I'm using the Instant Client 11.1, setup as per Quest Support SOL76543.

TIA!
