About 1. For the test it is enough to break the netwerk connection to get the behaviour mentioned. I won't say that Toad hangs forever, but if you have multiple sessions open, many editors, it takes a very long time and multiple error messages for one window before it shuts down. So my solution is also to use the task manager to kill the toad session. The biggest irritation I have is the fact that first one edit sessions gives an error, going through all the sessions and then over again, so you get the impression that you are in a loop.
