Just because something happened to work does at some point not mean it's supported. For example I have posted blogs and virtual machines on Toad World for running Toad on Linux using Wine. But it's not supported. But I used IC 10.2.0.5 with Toad 8.5.1 32bit before (on XP 32 and 64bit as well as Windows 7 64bit). You can't use a higher version of the Instant Client and have to take the 32bit version, this much I had figured out already. As I done under XP 64bit and Win7 64bit, I downloaded IC 10.2.0.5 32bit, created the Path and TNS_Admin variables and started up Toad (installed in C:\Toad). The home, SQLNET and TNSNAMES are shown as valid in Toad (my DBs are listed), but when I try to connect I get the message: "Cannot find OCI DLL:" (no further Information). I run Toad as Administrator and have set the compatibility mode to "XP SP3". I have no other Oracle installations and am running out of things to try... anyone got an idea how this could be made to work? > > Thanks a lot! > > AA > > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo!
