PostGreSQL DBA in Milford, CT (Full time employee position)

Join a newly created small software development team which has the 
backing of large parent company! Looking for a motivated software 
engineer who is willing to challenge and expand their skill set as 
Developer, Database Administrator and Release Engineer. The databases 
include both PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
. Assisting in the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of 
databases
. Troubleshooting database performance issues,
. Reviewing configuration and looking for opportunities to improve 
performance
. Actively analyzing log files to spot issues and maintaining disaster 
recovery capabilities
. Perform functions of a release engineer responsible for ensuring 
pristine continuous integration and builds are happening at regular 
intervals

*Required Skills and Experience*
. 4 + years Postgres SQL DBA experience deployed on Linux or Unix 
operating system
. Must have a very good working knowledge of replication in Postgress 9.x
. Must be an expert in optimizing performance of SQL queries, indexes 
and database design
. Must have worked in team environment supporting a hosted application 
in a data center
. Must be an expert in writing necessary shell scripts to maintain the 
database optimal
. Must be able to work under stressful conditions if necessary without 
losing composure
. May require travel to data center once every 2-3 months
. Must be familiar with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Processes
. Must have working knowledge of MSSQL and MySQL databases
. Familiarity in migrating from traditional RDBMS to NOSQL or cloud 
based deployment is highly desired
. Must possess excellent written and verbal communications
. Must have superior database trouble shooting skills
