it's a prerelease version from the 3.3 branch which was on stage3
(http://gcc.gnu.org/develop.html#stage3). This is really not nice but was
needed to keep the same compiler for ix86 and x86-64. As SuSE Linux 8.2
will be available for Athlon64 and Opteron processors this was a must
have.
