I strongly urge you to reconsider either the gcc version or the shipment 
date of SuSE 8.2. If you ship SuSE 8.2 with a non-release version of gcc, 
this will mean that all professional and business users will have to avoid 
using your distro, as they will not get any support from their other 
software suppliers. The company I work for sells software for the 
construction industry. Some of our products use the relational databases 
Oracle and Sybase, and some use the object-oriented database ObjectStore. 
When we release our products, we can only release them for platforms that 
our database vendors support. There is a strong interdependence between 
relational databases and the platform compiler when the interface used is 
Embedded SQL. And in the ObjectStore case, the dependence is even greater. 
As Sybase, ObjectStore, and Oracle are US products, the likelyhood that 
they will ever support a non-release version of gcc is pretty slim, even 
more so if no other Linux distro picks exactly the same non-release 
version for their release than you have. They will more likely point to 
Red Hat and other available distributions. So your decision to ship SuSE 
8.2 with a non-release version of gcc means that no production database 
software will be supported on SuSE 8.2, and in turn no ISV will support 
SuSE 8.2. Enterprise customers will either have to wait for SuSE 8.3, or 
will have to switch to an entirely different Linux distribution. And I'm 
talking client computers here, not servers.
