And nowadays we are lucky to have additional choices, like UniVerse allowing you to key a space in and after pressing <ENTER> it gets removed and we have the same thing. I like this technique better sometimes because in some versions of PICK/BASIC, control characters show up as a '.' in the Editor. You look at it, and without typing some more commands, you cannot differentiate between a control character and an actual period. But it's good to know multiple techniques in case we have to work on multiple systems.
