i can't install ddd

hello!, i can't install ddd i unpack the tar.gz then do the ./configure &&
make, but it finds problems with the make, it says configure:
error: You must set the environment variable CXX to a working
                  C++ compiler.  Also check the CXXFLAGS settings.
                  See the file 'config.log' for further diagnostics.
