Usability of the Webite and Installation of ROX-Desktop

First an hello of mine-
great to be here.

I'm using ROX for quite a time now, first as an filer, later on with
some of its desktop-features.

And installing it didn't work to well, even with the ROX-All-package.
I got error-messages of missing libs I thought to have already
installed (mainly ROXlib2 and its pals, though installed automatically
via 0installs depency tracking some Apps won't find them) and so on.

Finding help was difficult as well since the webpage of ROX gives me
much info, but mostly cluttered around, leaving comments is a cruel job
("There's a login-pane, but where the **** can I register?") and so on.

While I think the webpage needs a big redesign and Iam not really
interested in help there I think I'm on my way to get all running as
expected at home (after fiddling quite some time, and at least a bit
more will follow).

The ROX-All lets you stand in rain, because it doesn't even contain the
libs mentioned above, and with the 0install you don't even know where
your software is (yes by now I know this, but I'm a rather expierenced
linux-user, which isn't exactly addressed by the "userfriendly" found on
the webpage).

In the end, I see ROX is really well documented and well done, but it
was in my eyes a too hard process to get the information I need to
solve problems which aren't to big (if you know what do to).

My suggestion:

A new package, lets call it ROX-Base, which only contains the
ROX-Filer, ROXLib and its pals and an nice install script, which puts
the libs to /usr/local/lib.

Additionally we'll put in the settings-apps, ROX-Session and OroboROX,
so the user gets the running ROX-Desktop without fiddling.

This should be the fastest install-way, provided the user knows how to
type in su (and in my eyes typing ./configure, make, su, make install
should be familiar with more users as fiddling around with 0install and
appdirs).

If there is interest, I'll work myself deeper into 0install, build the
package and put it on my own server ready to get it linked for download.

Tell me what you think about it and give me some suggestions.
