I used the script offered there :

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=48169

but with a less intrusive approach : simply ensuring I have the nautilus
script in my PATH (such as in ~/bin). It just works, and any Nautilus
network bookmark will mount correctly, as well as external drives.

To unmount however, I need to use the System in the places menu, open
Nautilus this way, and unmount from there. Annoying, but it works so well
overall that I haven't bothered. The same goes for adding bookmarks.

If this helps you finding a way to get completely rid of Nautilus, I'm
interested !
