For sure, I like the idea. The problem is just that it doesn't seems to work, at least for me :-/. 
And this plugin is taking lots of place inside my panel. Having an option to hide him when nothing is displayed would be a great things I think.

Anyway, if you want I can host your plugin on Berlios, where most of them are. Just get an account and I'll add you to the project.
