i use one to keep the traffic down on my WAN connections... all my machines talk
to the proxy whenever they want to and i don't clog up dnet's pipes with traffic
every few minutes... i've been fussed at in the past about that when i had my
proxy delivering completed packets in small batches (<20 or so)...

really? i've never noticed that... but then again, the proxy has those stats and
that's where you should look for those details if the individual workstations
are not being logged in the main feed... all of my machines seemed to have been
the last time i checked several years (10+?) back when i was actually interested
in stats ;)

other than the traffic on your pipe and that of dnet (paid for by donations),
probably not...
