That's a question for the qmail list, but yes, it does. See qmail.org
for a patch to qmail-smtpd and qmail-smtpd replacements that support
SSL (whichever you prefer). You can also just use Stunnel (or similar)
as a wrapper to qmail-smtpd (similar to how you use
inetd/xineted/tcpserver now).
