oops! I forgot to mention: user-robo/supervise and sqlproxy/supervise
are the ones where I did my tests; the supervise/'s you see there are
fresh! sorry...

defintely disturbing! and no, the other box runs ext2 on /dev/hd*

but now I'm (100-epsilon)% sure that it has to do with jfs;
