You could build a RPM without the patch that way. If you want to know how to do, I think the Mandrake Qmail SRPMS have an option to compile with dietlibc. You will find the Mandrake SRPM daemon tools there too: ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/packages/rpmhelp/Mandrake/djbware/9.1/SRPMS/daemontools-0.76-6rph.src.rpm with the errno patch.
