Hello there,

this sounds very good to me. To provide a general "layout language"
sounds very comfortable, allthough one must take care to have a "minimum
attribute set", e.g. a set of attributes common to all "render
engines". Maybe the docu has to be split up to "core attributes" and
attributes for swing, SWT, ...

I was thinking about using some kind of generator to avoid the use of
reflection as far as possible *during runtime*. This may help generate
the docu too. This could be easyliy adopted to generate necessary code
for SWT as well.

An additional advantage I see from the sample code you provided would be
to have *one* layout manager of the same kind for all containers
requiring one of this kind.

I do not really know how much I'm able to help during the X-mas season
but I would appreciate if you share the code not only with wolf but with
all who are interested. Maybe we could use the java.net CVS and private
mail to sync? I'm quite sure we need to communicate only with a handful
of developers.

Yours,

Frank
