Hello Wolf,

if you have "notepad" available at the poll, please consider JDE 
([x]emacs integrated very sophisticated java development environment) 
too. http://jdee.sunsite.dk/

I use both eclipse and xemacs because of the still poor editing 
capabilities of all IDEs I stumbled upon.
