As Volker said: the -q option just prevents the start menue, not the debugger command line. In 
order to get this behaviour you have to use the -rc option. Alternatively I use the following 
command line: echo "c" | bochs -f bochsrc.

The bochs binary in Debian/Wheezy is a simulation-only binary. The bochs binary in Debian/Jessie 
has the debugging facility. Indeed, if you run bochs with the debugger and just want to have a 
simulation, you pay a performance penalty.

As far as I can see there is no command line option to disable the debugger. I suppose, there is 
only one way to get a simulation-only binary: recompiling bochs with the debugger disabled.

Perhaps I should make a report to the Debian BTS and open a wishlist for two versions of the 
bochs binary: one with debugging enabled and one for simulation-only.
