Re: Debugger improvements

Please extract all your changes into patches, the simpler and independent patches it is will be – the better.

The trivial bugfixes would be probably applied immediately.

For some other patches will be applied now or later, after they align well with development strategy we currently have.

 

My current plans about Bochs debugger and disasm:

 

-          Make Bochs internal decoder fully capable to replace disasm module

o   Better to be able also to wrap up Bochs decoder into separate stand-alone decoder-disasm library

-          Throw away Bochs disasm folder J

-          Add full symbols support to the decoder-disam library

-          Enable symbols support patch for Bochs enhanced debugger

 

As you may see, symbols support is definitely one of my priority items, sure we will come together to the code design which Bochs beautiful and portable enough to be included in Bochs tree.

I have made several improvements in the debugger. I have fixed several issues with proper handling of 64-bit addresses, and added support for 64 bit symbols. I have added several symbol lookups and rewritten info tab to walk PAE tables.

 

I would like these improvements to be merged into the project. How should I proceed?
