I was lucky enough to speak to Dr. Aleksandr Shmid about ISX

a SHARE conference. It is a real and impressive technology allowing older 
(and newer) workloads to be run in virtual machines on MVS without IBM VM. 
In his comments and reading the companies web site I am not led to believe 
that this (existing licenses for the box would be invalid for images 
running in virtual machines) was the case.  We did not specifically discuss 
licensing or intellectual property this is just my impression based on the 
general information and the lack of any of these issues being mentioned as 
a concern.

Hercules running on a real IBM mainframe would have the same issues if any 
existed as ISX I think.
It is at least an interesting scenario for comparison.
