The PC-Server 500 has a serial number on
the case. If the OS/390 license is tied to
the case serial number, the license may
allow you to add disk, memory, and upgrade
other pieces inside of the case.

The server is a large tower. I could
probably install two or three mother boards
in one. I could also gut it and put a
 smaller tower case in one.

I still prefer my 'wrap the P/390 card in
plastic' solution if the license allows it.

The P370-L/P390-L list would be a better
place to ask what can be done. Subscribers
understand the licenses and the hardware.
