 Well OK the 3350 version "works" on the P390 in ESA mode, but I would be very surprised if it didn't.
 The P390 is very close to Hercules. So it triggers the same errors in DDR that Hercules does, 
 because it also presents DE+CE (I think) after a tape rewind for an AWS tape and DDR is not expecting that.

To get it across I used DDR to dump the disk to AWS tape, copied the aws tape to a CD and to the then restored it on the P/390. 
I know VM DDR is not designed for such mis-use but it generally produces good copies of DASD.

There is a noticeable but minute "delay" when it re-writes the screen, but the P390 is pretty slow on IO as it only has one Pentium P90 that 
has to emulate all the channel IO.

(By works I checked it IPL's, runs the autoxec.bat and DIR  produces some output.)
