 you simply don't want to understand: The log file doesn't get truncated. It simply _is_ incomplete because Hercules didn't end gracefully. You may either try to find out why your handling isn't to its liking, or reduce your configuration.

 should be completely written out instead of
 being prematurely truncated.
 
 Note that if MVS itself has cached some data
 or not closed files, I fully expect *that* data to
 be lost. And *that* data loss would be my fault
 for not shutting MVS down cleanly.

 any data because it's doing a disorderly
 shutdown when it is supposed to be doing an

 Only if I power off my PC or forcibly close the
 Hercules window would I expect to see a
