I second Fish=E2=80=99s advice for you to join the groups.io Hercules-390 g=
roup, this Yahoo group is now moribund.

That said, I believe I remember seeing messages within the last few years s=
omewhere, maybe on this group and maybe elsewhere, that there are terminal =
controller boxes that had an Ethernet connection option (not sure of the de=
vice numbers, possibly one of 3174/3274) so if one or more of those control=
ler boxes is among the many peripherals you were given you may be able to c=
obble something together that could connect to a Hercules system. Somethin=
g like:

3179 terminal -> coax cable to 3x74 controller -> ethernet connection to ro=
uter -> IP of Hercules running on a PC system

At least I think it is possible, but please don=E2=80=99t take my word for =
it =E2=80=93 I=E2=80=99m definitively NOT a hardware guru.

Greetings. I've been quiet here, reading in the background for quite some t=
ime. I have had an interest in learning about mainframes for some time.
A deal came along, and i am picking up a couple very large Z systems from a=
datacenter. Where i am going to put them and power them is another issue t=
hough.

I was given many peripherals that went along with older systems from the da=
tacenter, and i picked up a lot of 3179 terminals with the keyboards.
They appear to connect via a coax jack on the back. I was curious if there =
is a way to use these terminals along with an emulated Hercules system.

I have many of the terminals, I was hoping to get a few set up connected to=
an emulated system if possible.
