Why should I be “unwilling”? This is what I have tried: porting Free Software to the mainframe on MVS 3.8J. Unfortunately, I could not even find c99, not to mention newer versions. Do you have any? Am I “willing” to pay $550 a month? No. We're forced to pay $550 a month or there will be no way to use z/OS. We're a foundation for supporting Free Software. So we've payed this to make it possible for many free software projects to port their software to this platform. As I mentioned, the guys from Perl are using the VM to port their software. Python was going to be added. In the view of the Free Software community, USS is a Unix, which is missing. Nearly all other Unices are supported already in most projects. And now the IBM is increasing the price tag to an extend that we've to pass. But, as I said, this is off-topic here. And so are the Koalas I guess. Yours, VB.
