GCC and JCC are both C90-compliant as far
as I know. I don't know whether they are
C99-compliant as well. Are you using C99
features?

Just use a bootlegged z/OS like everyone
else does. But if you can do your development,
and also target, the free environment, that
would be so much better.

I have spent half of my life waiting to meet you so
that I could negotiate with you. Hello. Is there a
reason you only want to target Unix platforms
instead of all platforms that have a C90-compliant
compiler, ie including traditional MVS? I would like
to see freeware shipped as default being a
C90-compliant product, and for Unix extensions
to be enabled by a non-default configuration option.
File-processing programs can be written in
standard C90. There's no need for Unix
extensions. So no need to use them by default.

It's not off-topic. We're discussing running a flavor
of MVS, possibly on Hercules.
