Hello,

the blocking of input into a field, when in insert mode,
occurs, when the field is already full of characters. The characters,
which prevent the inserting, may be blanks (trailing blanks on the right).

In this case, I delete some of the blanks at the right end of the field.
This can easily be done using the "clear-until-end" key
(don't recall the original name of the key on the original 3270 keyboard;
on the PC keyboard, it is often mapped to CTRL-END) or by issuing
single deletes (DEL).

If you clear some blanks at the right end, you have enough space to
insert characters at any place at the left.
