where in the paging did it skip the extra lines
Just plain PF7 & PF8 with nothing else
 
or after command and things?
And you weren't getting prog or anything on the screen?
 
Strange let ne know exactly where it happened and which PF keys

I tried the edit and browse (using x3270 on ubuntu 10.04) and it skipped an
extra 8 lines when paging using model 3278-2, but positioned correctly for
3278-3 or 3278-4.

I think what your building is a great idea. I've only just started using
Hercules, and had forgotten Xedit and a full DIAG interface for fullscreen
hadn't existed pre VM/SP. 

I definitely agree with using assembler to do the project, you're extending
VM/370 which is written in it, and writing for an architecture with tight
address limits. (And I like Assembler!)
