Re: GCIC Fullscreen applications

The GCIC application has been up for the entire weekend and  Thursday Friday
Saturday and no critical Issues reported.
 
That qualifies as an "ALPHA"

Just a directory structure not a real website..
 
Go to the GCIC directory and you should see:

This is not an FTP site so either right click on it and download the target
to your machine or run the ZIP and extract to your machine
Very small - an AWS tape
 
As far as the application is concerend no directions etc. yet.
 
but
1) I would suggest loading the tape to a R/o disk somewhere
2) Give the machine you want to run the GCIC application R/O access to that
disk
3) there is a profile EXEC on the tape - two FILEDEFS in the profile EXEC
  One points to a copy of the directory - used for validating signons - Does
not have to be the real directory
  The other points to the MSG table which is on the TAPE
4) copy of the real directory is useful for doing links and access etc.. If
you have anything you don want people to see just comment them out.
 
The machine should be at least 8 meg and no more than 15
It must be running in BC mode
Copy the sets from the profile EXEC example for MSG IMSG WNG EMSG Copy the
sets for TIMER and RUN
 
Thats it
 
to start the app type GCIC
you will get an "ENTER COMMAND " message
type DISC
 
Machine will continue to run in Disconnected mode
 
D machine and you are working --- (maybe)
 
to stop the Machine logon to the disconnected machine
 
you will get reconnected.
 
Hit enter until the "Enter COMMAND" message and then type EOJ
 
Do not try to enter other command from the console as you will probably
screw up the machine
If you must  --- Enter CP and do a LOGOFF - that will also kill it.
 
If you manage to get an abend - check the RDR - I send mini formatted dumps
to the reader for analysis if I can.
Somtime the machine contnues but if you killed critical storage then it will
probably die.
 
Available for questions all day and forever but remember that this version
will be updated frequently in the next couple of days
 
So if you want to make changes work with me.
 
Since Paul does not want to help with sort for the FLIST  (and he really
insulted me by questioning my programming skills) - 
that would be a good place to start if you want to get a feel for the
application design - 
I will gladly coach anybody that wants to tackle that task
