AFAIK asterisk just means "empty" You attach a tape with the Hercules "devinit" command devinit 480 c:\hercules\tape\mytape *** you can use the shorter form of devinit 480 tape\mytape .. assuming the current directory is c:\hercules. .. You can find out the current directory from hercules console using the "cd" command .. If you put DIAG8CMD ENABLE in your config file you can issue hercules commands from within CMS using the CP HCP command : HCP devlist HCP devlist e HCP devinit e prt\p1 HPC devinit 480 tape\mytape etc On 8/10/10, Wolfgang Schmidt <[email protected]> wrote: > Within the "SixPack.conf" file I found tape definitions with an asterisk > (0xxx 3420 *) instead of a Windows/UNIX file id.
