I think biggest issue would be DASD support. I expect it will have 3380 (or possibly 3390) drives. I think the other issue is 2k/4k storage keys but the 4/5/6 packs have this fix. Not the original Bob Abeles though. Here's an interesting one, over on the Z/VM list David Boyes just confirmed that a system running HP05 was finally shutdown. I didn't ask why, it might be obvious, but he did describe what system it was, it happened to be a 3090 family machine. Now would anyone know what system IDs were the sort that could, or even could not, be the sort of machine who could or could not, be a candidate for a "vanilla" VM/370rel6 setup. Now remember we have the original configuration who described what machine the creator of the original series had in mind. To be honest, I can't recall what VM/370rel6 was targeted towards, and for all I know it might have been run on early 3090s as their owners were working towards migrating towards, the ESA and HP05 family of operating systems. ----- Gregg C Levine [email protected] <mailto:gregg.drwho8%40gmail.com> "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again."
