The Hercules config file has the following:

CNSLPORT 3270

So if you are trying to connect to the Hercules console prior to IPL, you
would need to open a tn3270 session to port 3270.

1.2 release candidate 1!

Blake,

Kevin gave you the correct answer; from a VM point of view there shouldn't
be any problem in IPLing VM SixPack using 0010 as the primary console.

You says:
'With EVERY 3270 except "0010" commented out (see below), why would x3270
not connect to it and give me the "Hercules" Logo in precedence to IPLing
141?'

If I interpret correctly your words, you are trying to connect x3270 to
Hercules and you don't get Hercules logo.

So the problem you have has nothing to do with VM/370, but only with
Hercules and x3270 (x3270 doesn't connect to Hercules).

So you should investigate on:

1) Hercules (version - config file you're using)
2) x3270

BTW I used the config suggested by 'the great Kevin' with Hercules 3.07 and
TN3270 VISTA: IPL worked perfectly!

BFN

seems to have rendered no improvement whatsoever, and the "sixpack"
continues to be persistently dysfunctional using his advise relative to an
x3270 console.
