Actually it was Dave Wade who did the port to VM.
I did the port to GCC on MVS.
I'm not sure what Robert O'Hara has done too, after
his long diversion to Regina (which is loaded with
Unix crap).
My guess is that Louis wants to start by calling an
external assembler load module.
That is not currently possible (unless Bob lifted
the restriction), because system() is not implemented
in the CMS port of PDPCLIB. CMS and VSE are the only
environments that don't have that implemented. ie
there is a good chance that MVS will work as
expected.
