I have enabled destructive backspace support in both tn5250 and x5250.
You have to get the latest CVS of tn5250 and download a new 0.5.2 version
of x5250. In order to enable destructive backspace, add
+destructive_backspace to your tn5250rc file. The new x5250 version is
available at:

http://www.chowhouse.com/~james/x5250/x5250-0.5.2.tar.gz

This release also fixes a problem with the caret not erasing completely in
x5250 when using large fonts.

Please try this code out and report back any problems. Thanks!

James Rich

if you want to understand why that is, there are many good books on
the design of operating systems. please pass them along to redmond
when you're done reading them :)
