Using straight TN5250 in a terminal window. Xt5250 can be used, but I need
to tweak it as the default font settings are incredibly small!

As I said in my original email the "error reset" key is normally "control"
but it's not working on this basic tn5250 session.

Which front-end to TN5250 are you using?  Curses? Slang? xt5250? x5250? 
gtk-5250?

This "error" is obviously an issue that you don't know where the "error 
reset" key is on your keyboard, but I can't assist unless I understand 
your environment.
